A HostedPBX is suitable for you if..

If you are using DSL for your broadband access then it’s important to ensure that you have enough bandwidth available for your voice calls. The table below shows the maximum simultaneous voice channels and corresponding recommended users (not everyone is on the phone at the same time) for a variety of upstream bandwidths. The table provides values for a ‘Shared Connection” (DSL is used for both data and voice) and a “Dedicated Connection” (DSL is used for voice only). You can test your broadband connection speed at http://speedtest.net but keep in mind that a good score doesn’t necessarily mean that you will have good quality VOIP calls, as bandwidth speed varies during the day due to network load. You can also test the quality of your connection at http://pingtest.net. A rating of A or B usually indicates that the service will provide good support for a HostedPBX.
How much of my broadband data allowance will the system use?
This depends upon the codec used to carry your calls. If you use G729 then expect to use around 13mb/hour of talk time, for G711a allow 30-40mb/hour. Our statistics show that the average talk time per line per day is between 30 min to 1 hour so if you have 5 lines, allow between 650mb and 1.3gb per month using G729 and between 1.8gb to 3.5gb per month if using G711. Note we assume a 20 day working month and usage is based upon general office conditions. Modify talk time to suit your business and recalculate.
Implementation
Once you decide to proceed we will usually;
a. Carry out data collection over the phone
b. Order and install your ADSL2 service (if required)
c. Program the HostedPBX according to the data collection
d. Deliver and install the HostedPBX handsets (assisted installation option only)
e. Divert your existing telephone numbers across to the HostedPBX service
(during this phase you will be charged for each diverted incoming call)
f. Carry out user training
g. Confirm you are happy then port your existing telephone numbers across to the HostedPBX
h. Disconnect the redundant Voice Lines
i. Provide remote support and a single phone bill for your lines, calls and HostedPBX services
Your Responsibilities
i. Ensure that the HostedPBX suits your business requirements
ii. Provide a stable and well maintained Data Network with sufficient capacity for the voice services
iii. Provide cabling, a data and power point for each handset
iv. Provide remote access so we can carry out handset and router programming if required
Where we provide you with a dedicated Broadband Service and Router we will ensure that this service functions properly for voice traffic only. Where you provide the Broadband Service it is your responsibility to ensure it functions as required. We will assist with the installation of your IP Handsets but will not configure, maintain or remedy any faults on your IT network.
